Don Dumas

Hello, my name is Don Dumas, and I’m from Green Bay WI.

I have a very passionate desire for fishing, both open water and hard water.  I am the owner of Action On Ice Guide Service and Big Eye Custom Lures, a manufacturer of a full line of premium, custom-designed spinner rigs and blades.  I’ve been married for 21 years to my beautiful wife Paula, and we have two girls, Amanda & Aleesha.

My goal is to be able to take people on the fishing experience of a life time.  I want them to have great memories of what fishing is all about, and that includes using the best gear I can find.  I’ve been guiding for seven years and can say I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Tom Gruenwald and the great people at HT Enterprises for the majority of that time.

I am very proud to be a pro staff member for HT Enterprises, and love sharing and displaying their great products to my customers, and also simply telling friends about what is new.  I’ve written a few fishing articles as time allows, but I am not really a computer guy, but more of a hands on fishing person.  I’ve also been on a video shoot filming a segment of “Outdoors with Tom Gruenwald”on Green Bay in 2011, where we fished whitefish in sub-zero weather.  I also did a video shoot with the Weather Channel on why I love winter, a spot that was broadcasted for a week on national television.

We target a variety of different fish here at Action On Ice Guide Service, from bluegills to big pike … and we have many options for virtually every time of the year, although the recent “hot bite” has included the hard fighting, HT rod bending whitefish right here on Green Bay.
